 In February, 1996, Healthy Cities was proud to be associated with the ceremony to mark  the City of Onkaparinga’s membership of the WHO’s Safe Communities International Network. 

Visit of Bangkok Municipal Association officers – August 2007

Twenty municipal officers from Bangkok and a Fijian Research Fellow visited Healthy Cities Noarlunga, including a tour of Onkaparinga, visits to key health and community organisations, a presentation on Healthy Cities and a reception hosted by the Mayor of Onkaparinga. This visit was coordinated by Gwyn Jolley.

Professor Takehito Takano from Healthy Cities Tokyo visited the city in March, 1994. He was particularly impressed with our community involvement and the intersectoral support.

 

Healthy Cities hosted a visit of Public Health Administrators from the Municipality of Bangkok led by the Deputy Governor, Dr Chaiyan, in July, 1995. The visit was jointly hosted with the Mayor of Onkaparinga and the School of Medical Education at Flinders University.

 Healthy Cities also hosted visits from the Healthy Cities and Communities Short course run by Flinders University of SA. The visits included a number of overseas participants from the Philippines and Thailand.
