AWARDS

Gwyn Jolley attended the 3rd Global Assembly of the AFHC in Japan and was delighted to accept two awards on behalf of Healthy Cities Onkaparinga and local recipients.

Picture Diary Award Winners

Picture Diary Award Winners

 1.  Picture Diary Award

Cites were invited to submit picture diaries from local school students that illustrated healthy family life. Each city was able to submit up to three entries. Due to the short time frame only one school in Onkaparinga (Southern Montessori School) was able to participate and the Healthy Cities Onkaparinga Management Group selected the three top entries to send to Japan. One of the picture diaries won a special prize and the other two received Honourable Mentions. These awards were presented to the students at a school assembly on 3rd December 2008.

2.  Keep Safe, Stay Cool

This program, run from Noarlunga Health Village was awarded a WHO Healthy Cities Good Practice award in the ‘Preventing Violence in Healthy Cities’ category. Gwyn Jolley presented the award to the program staff and participants in 2008.
